We are like people looking for something they have in their hands all the time; we’re looking in all directions except at the thing we want, which is probably why we haven’t found it.
Good Intention Photos that Make Me think… well wait a minute
Part Fourteen:
While understanding Wittgenstein’s thought, taking it in a context such as this is misleading… and slightly random in a way… as it is a fact that what people believe to be well founded is relative to what one believes so this in fact is a message that could resonate with most anyone about most anything.
In life one must remember that thoughts are not one way or another. Ideas like morality, ethics, and the like are not the same across the board, and when one begins to throw around quotes with the intent on saying one thing, one must understand that when others interpret in their own way, using it for their own ideas and thougths, it is not necessarily wrong… it is doing exactly what you are doing, so how can you fault them for that? Because their thoughts are not inline with yours?
Laying the groundwork for “morality and ethics” may be something that is good for us all, but in doing so one must remember that one surrenders some control to the human collective. If one is not ready to understand or accept this, then one should not go around speaking of things such as this in the first place.
Learning to listen to others ideas (especially the ones we don’t agree with) are one of the hardest things for us to do as a species.
Don’t get so caught up in your own belief as to forget that another has just as strong belief in what they are saying as well.
All human actions (are said) to have one or more of these causes:
-chance
-nature
-compulstion(s)
-habit
-reason
-passion
-desire
The challenge (it seems), for humans is to identify what one is exhibiting at any given time and to understand how it affects ones actions/state/mindset/situation.
And Now For a Few Words ….. (part one)
Plato:
-Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.
-You cannot conceive the many without the one.
-Everything that deceives may be said to enchant.
-You are young, my son, and, as the years go by, time will change and even reverse many of your present opinions. Refrain therefore awhile from setting yourself up as a judge of the highest matters.
-Death is not the worst that can happen to men.
-Only the dead have seen the end of war.
-Man…is a tame or civilized animal; never the less, he requires proper instruction and a fortunate nature, and then of all animals he becomes the most divine and most civilized; but if he be insufficiently or ill- educated he is the most savage of earthly creatures.
-Never discourage anyone…who continually makes progress, no matter how slow.
-The price good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men.
-The partisan, when he is engaged in a dispute, cares nothing about the rights of the question, but is anxious only to convince his hearers of his own assertions.
-We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.
-No human thing is of serious importance.
Please, just stick to your day job (and even then I don’t particularly want to hear you)…..
Part Three:
Every once and awhile a person comes along that defies my total understanding of the human condition…. Enter THIS person. No matter what is going on in the world (war, famine, economic meltdown, regional regime changes etc), this women always seems to squeeze them out for coverage and come out on top and is again and again and again quoted on what she says…..
WHY???? I don’t even understand what she is “famous” for? What is wrong with humans?
Kim Kardashian: If Paris Hilton thinks my butt looks gross I really don’t care. At least I have a butt.
Kim Kardashian: White is actually one of my favorite colors. I have a white car. I love white.
Kim Kardashian: I think my sense of style is evolving. I’m figuring out ways to be sexy without having to flaunt it.
Kim Kardashian [on Barack Obama]: He just seemed very firm about the change, and that’s, like, his motto.
A pessimist is always alone. An optimist is always two people away from a threesome
